Pyton at its weakest time
On my way back hall yesterday, I was surprised to see two security uncle standing at the corner of the other end of my block, where another staircase was located. I must say my curiosity level is quite low, unless it is food. I didn’t bother about it.
Saw QL at level 3 while looking down from level 5.
Me: "Why is everyone at level 3?"
QL: " You want to see a snake?"
Me: "I want! I want! Where? Where?"
QL: "Come down level 3. At the staircase there, sure can see."
Me: "Ok! Coming down now."
To my horror, i saw a 4-5 metres long snake at the corner right beside the rubbish bin. It was think. It was big. It was long. Motionless.
Went straight up to grab my camera & took a few snaps. But then i realised that the picture didn’t justify its size. Haiz. Seeing is believing, but photo might be deceiving.
Apparently the snake was there since 5pm and the pest control people hadn’t arrive!
While waiting for the arrival of the pest control people, i saw the position where the snake curled up, the scales were opened up.
"Oh I see. The snake was changing its skin."
At 8pm, the pest control men arrived, without any tools except for a small bucket (as big as the 10L paint bucket). "oh no… they must hadn’t been told of the size of the snake!"
I was correct. They were shocked when they saw the snake. A 5 metres pyton!
There was only one "UPs" guy(most of the action throughout the episode was doner by this guy), as described by Glennis. He was the one who disturbed the snake before the snake tried to make its way of escape, towards the little forest hill right behind our block (i think that’s where it came from). The "UPs" guy managed to grab the last part of its tail and you can see he was struggling with the snake. It was like tug-a-war. The snake was strong! The "UPs" guy couldn’t pull it up until his teammates joined him in the tug-of-war. It gave me an adrenaline rush when seeing them pulling the snake back!
The snake tried to attack and made its first noise! Quickly it tamed down and tried to escape by moving towards the corridor where the rest of the "UPs" guy teammates were. It got no way to escape. It turned and tried to move into a room but the room was locked. It was trapped at the shoe rack area, right between the room door and the corridor.
It finally quietened down.
The pest control guys used a white cloth to cover the pyton’s head and the "UPs" guy grabbed its head to prevent it from moving. Two of his teammates carried the body and together they placed it into the rubbish bin (remember? the pail they brought was way too small).
Four of them carried the rubbish bin away and this marked the end of the whole episode.
Updated 15/12/2007: The "UPs" guy came and collected the CD with the videos we recorded for the "Pyton Episode in Block 43". He was actually so nice to buy me 3 little croissant pastry from Polar Bread. A little raisin snail with halved cherry on top and 2 blueberry custard croissant. It has been a while since i had Polar’s Pastry and this is the second time. A little kind gesture warmth my heart! ^o^
